Looking for a preschool program for nearly 3 year old on SW side. Moved from Indy area where there were lots of options and left a program we loved (Primrose School). Need more than finger painting and free play...any advice?

Any search for child care should start with the Early Childhood Alliance's "Paths to Quality" program, (260) 745-2501. The now statewide service was started in Fort Wayne and ranks participating child-care centers based on a wide variety of factors, from staff-child ratios to curriculum offerings. The Early Childhood Alliance can help guide you to a number of choices in your area. Here's their website: www.ecalliance.org/

My little ones attend Peace on Aboite (just down the street from SW Jorgenson Y). They teach all the pre-K requisites - numbers, letters, name, calendar, etc. Yesterday they learned about space, last week they had firemen in for safety week. They also have the art and free play that you would expect from a preschool. Always something going on. My kids love it. They have lots of options as far as 1/2 day, full day, 1-4 days a week, etc. so its been very flexible for our schedule. I will be sad when my kids move on to K - teachers have become my friends.

I really like Peace Lutheran, its on Fairfeild blvd. My son goes here and its been AMAZING!! But they are not a full day program.

Look at Abacus on Pointe Inverness right off of Illinois. My 14 month old daughter is there for daycare, but they also have part time and we LOVE it!

I love Avalon Christian School located off Lower Huntington and Airport Expressway. They are an excellent group of teachers and staff. Both of my children have attended and my daughter will be doing her 3rd year next year. The amount that she is learning is amazing. She's already starting to read at age 4. They offer several different days and times. Some partial days and some full days.

I live SW and Have had a child at Peace and a child at Sonrise on Scott Rd and Illinois. They are both great. Sonrise is nicer inside and has more ammenities. They are also more accademic than Peace seemed to be, but both boys loved their school and were well prepared for kindergarten. Sonrise is very Christian oriented with a lot bible learning, I like it, but it is a big part of the curriculum.

Suburban Bethlehem has a wonderful preschool program. Check us out at www.suburbanbethlehem.org

My daughter went to Peace, too. They seem to have a good program, plus the rooms are very welcoming and comfortable for the kids.

Sonrise Christian PreSchool is also an excellent and well respected program! They fill up quickly, but they may still have some openings. Here is their link: http://sonrisechurch.info/#/family-ministry/sonrise-preschoo

A co-worker of mine has her two children at Abacus..and Loves it there and so do both her kids!

I work at Risen Savior Preschool 8010 W. Jefferson Blvd. It is the church that sits on the Lutheran Hospital Campus area. Our classes are small and we offer a mom's day out class, and classes for age 2-preK. We are strictly preschool, no day care, but there is a day care program across the street and we have in the past walked kids over to their classes after preschool. You can call 432-1214 and leave a message for our director Debbie LaBelle. Check out our website at:www.risensaviorlutheranpreschool.com

I've heard peace and sunrise are great. A new one thats good is The Chapel.

Thanks for the information, I am going to check it all out.

What is the name of the day care program across the street? I am looking to get my child in preschool setting part time but I also need daycare part of the day because I work.

Good luck on your search. Hope you find what you need! There are a lot of good programs out southwest.

Aldersgate off of Getz near Jefferson has a wonderful accredited program. I know they offer several different options for pre-school, so you might check in to them. Good luck!

a friend of ours just signed her kid up for aldersgate. I don't know anything about it but it would be worth checking out!

My kids went there and we were pleased. Definitely recommend their program!

yea just look into some and pick the one thats right for you

thanks i may check them out

Do you know the name of the daycare across the street from your place of work?

Any Luck in Finding a preschool? We sent our 3 year old to peace.

Not really yet. My son will be 3 in April, so will probably wait until that point, just looking for ideas on where to check out before then. Thanks for asking.

ok well good luck

Thank you. Are you talking about Sonrise on Illinois Road?

Sunrise has a great program but normally a waitlist

Is it the one on Illinois Road? I think there are some different ones, almost named the same Sonrise, and Sunrise

Sorry meant to spell it sonrise. Darn autocorrect. I think there is just the one

Oh that is okay. I am really hoping to find a different job with the hours in which I can send him to a preschool when he turns 3.

Hope you find something so he can

I think I will, I am going to do some more research over the next few months and call around to the places and see what they offer.

Yea as soon as enrollment for fall starts u need to jump on it because preschools can be hard to get into and u don't want to be waitlisted

The preschools are base of the children who want to make their future. assignment writing service uk - assignmentbox.co.uk
